About Me
I grew up in a small town in Upstate New York called Elmira. My hometown proudly celebrates itself as the home of Mark Twain. He wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, and many others while living in Elmira. What writer wouldn’t be inspired by that?
I’m blessed with a close family. My parents, especially my father, enjoy many creative pastimes. He introduced me to photography, Ukranian egg decorating, carving roosters out of twigs, and the joys of tempera paint and fun fur. My mother and I share a love of reading. We both enjoy a variety of books, including mysteries, global cultural stories, Swedish crime novels, and whatever my children want to read that day.
Through my high school and college educations, I enjoyed other creative pursuits, such as theater/drama and musical performance (voice). I was also an editor and writer for the Literary Magazine. While completing my Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, two teammates and I created a full-sized stained glass window for a class project.
I went on to earn an MBA as well. My creative side was relegated to hobby status for many years while I built my business career and began my family.
Once my second child (my daughter) arrived, I have been inspired by my children’s voices to bring the creative back to my work. I thank them (and my husband, for making it possible), from the bottom of my heart. They have helped me find myself again.
